On Saturday, a horrific occurrence was discovered in Ghaziabad, where a 12-year-old girl was brutally assaulted by stray dogs within a housing complex, resulting in severe injuries. The incident took place inside a residential society in the Raj Nagar area of Ghaziabad.

 

According to sources, the occurrence was recorded by surveillance cameras. CCTV video depicted the girl being pursued by several dogs, who continued to chase her despite her attempts to flee.

 

Nonetheless, the situation took a turn when a delivery personnel intervened and managed to chase away the dogs, rescuing the young girl.

 

Despite the harrowing encounter with the aggressive dogs, the young girl fortunately escaped with only minor injuries including bitemarks and cuts.

The said snippet of the footage got viral on the internet. The incident is a testament to the importance of timely assistance in such distressing situations, and the incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers posed by stray animals in residential areas.

 

Anuj Kumar, the chief veterinary officer of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, stated that the responsibility of not permitting street dogs into societies lies with the Residents Welfare Association (RWA). He mentioned that in view of the surfaced video, an investigation was being conducted to determine why the street dogs had pursued the minor girl. He indicated that a comprehensive examination would be conducted, following which the municipal corporation would initiate the necessary actions.

Kumar further added that efforts were being made to ascertain whether the dogs were afflicted with rabies. If such a condition was confirmed, swift measures would be taken. He also mentioned ongoing attempts to establish contact with the RWA in order to verify the vaccination status of the residents against rabies.
