In a tragic incident in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a man named Suneel was arrested for allegedly abetting his wife's suicide amid a nine-year-long conflict over dowry. The victim's father lodged a complaint, citing harassment and assault by Suneel and his in-laws, leading to the FIR and subsequent arrest.

In
Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a poignant tragedy unfolded as authorities arrested
Suneel, a taxi driver, for his alleged involvement in his wife's tragic
suicide, following nine tumultuous years of marriage entangled in a harrowing
dowry dispute. The apprehension occurred near the Garhi Chaukhandi roundabout,
under Phase 3 police station limits, based on a complaint filed by the victim's
father on December 5.
Mansharam,
the grief-stricken father, narrated a distressing saga of his daughter Mamta's
marital life. Initially married in the Hardoi district, Mamta and Suneel later
relocated to Noida. However, the transition to their new life was marred by
incessant demands for dowry, escalating into relentless harassment and physical
assault on Mamta by her in-laws and husband.
Throughout
these years, Mansharam was a witness to his daughter's anguish. He recounted
her constant distress, citing her severe mistreatment at the hands of her
in-laws despite being a mother to a six-year-old boy. The situation had taken a
toll on Mamta's mental well-being, leaving her in perpetual worry and despair.
The distress peaked on December 3 when Mamta, subjected to further brutality by Suneel and his mother, reached out to her father in desperation. Tragically, the next day, Mansharam received the devastating news of his daughter's untimely demise.
The
grieving father wasted no time in reaching out to the authorities, prompting
the filing of an FIR under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code, outlining the
abetment of suicide. The subsequent investigation led to Suneel's arrest on
Wednesday, with law enforcement actively pursuing the arrest of the other
accused, notably Suneel's mother.
Vijay
Kumar, the Phase 3 police station in charge, affirmed the ongoing investigative
efforts to bring all involved parties to justice, assuring a thorough probe
into the deeply distressing circumstances surrounding Mamta's tragic end.
This
heart-wrenching episode serves as a stark reminder of the persisting societal
menace of dowry-related conflicts, shedding light on the dire need for
stringent measures to prevent such tragic outcomes.
