In a significant development in the Divya Pahuja murder case, the man accused of dumping the ex-model's body in a river has been apprehended at Kolkata airport. Balraj Gill, identified as one of the prime suspects, was taken into custody by Gurugram Police on Thursday, January 11. Gill had reportedly fled from Punjab's Patiala after abandoning his car near a bus stand.

The arrest follows the gruesome incident where Divya Pahuja, a former model, was allegedly shot dead by hotel owner Abhijeet Singh in Gurugram. Alongside two other individuals, Singh is accused of dragging Divya's lifeless body into a car and subsequently dumping it in the river in Patiala.

The breakthrough came after the Gurugram Police announced on January 5 that they had recovered the car believed to have been used in disposing of the victim's body. Security camera footage had captured the vehicle near a toll plaza, providing crucial leads for investigators. Karan Singh, a constable from the Crime Branch of Gurugram Police, confirmed the vehicle's role in transporting and dumping the body.

Varun Dahiya, Gurugram ACP (Crime), revealed that Balraj Gill, who had been on the run since abandoning the car, was apprehended at Kolkata airport. Ravi Banga, another accused in the case, is still reported to be evading the authorities.

The investigations further unveiled that Divya Pahuja's murder involved a complex sequence of events, with the alleged perpetrators meticulously planning and executing the disposal of the body. CCTV footage played a crucial role in establishing the connection between the crime scene and the recovered vehicle.

Earlier in the week, three individuals were arrested in connection with the murder after being identified through CCTV footage, providing a ray of hope for justice in the tragic case. The ongoing investigation aims to piece together the entire sequence of events leading to the murder and ensure that all those involved are brought to justice.
