Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra alleges special assistants are spying on state Cabinet ministers for the BJP's central leadership. He claims ministers lack autonomy and questions the budget preparation process, while the BJP dismisses these accusations as baseless.
Rajasthan Congress PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra charges the BJP government in Rajasthan with having placed spies in the offices of state Cabinet ministers.
While addressing a press conference in Jaipur on Tuesday, Dotasra said, “The ministers do not have any authority in the Cabinet while the bureaucrats rule the roost and the special assistants are not obeying their commands. They are rather reporting to the chief secretary and the party headquarter in Delhi about the movement of ministers and the files. ”
Dotasra also opined that lack of autonomy by ministers erode the tenets of democracy. He gave the instance of Cabinet minister Kirodi Lal Meena who allegedly resigned from his position and tender his resignation to the Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma after the party’s poor showing in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. Dotasra demanded to know why the Chief Minister had not acted on it, saying that she had not accepted the resignation but had also not rejected it.
The Congress leader also expressed concerns over the approaching state budget, pointing out that Diya Kumari, the minister of Finance, seems to be marginalized. ‘’The chief minister alone has been chairing all the budget related sittings what about the finance minister who will be presenting the budget was her vision considered?” Dotasra asked.
Reacting to these allegations, BJP National Spokesperson Mukesh Pareek rubbished Dotasra’s claims, saying that Congress leaders only make ‘senseless statements’ and that they are trying to mislead the public.

These allegations have emerged at a time when political dynamics in Rajasthan are rather acrimonious with the Congress party being eager to take on the BJP government in the state, questioning its decisions and actions.
