Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the debt crisis is a matter of great concern, especially for developing countries in the Global South.

In an exclusive interview with PTI, PM Modi said that the country is committed to forging a consensus and crafting a concrete framework to assist debt-ridden low-income economies.

"The debt crisis is indeed a matter of great concern for the world, especially developing countries," he told PTI.

The Prime Minister noted that there have been notable outcomes in dealing with the debt crisis. He highlighted two key developments such as Financial Discipline and avoiding Missteps.

He further highlighted the positive steps taken within the G20 framework, stating, "The G20 finance ministers and Central Bank Governors have acknowledged the good progress in debt treatment of common framework countries and beyond the common framework too."
