The Delhi High Court has rejected the bail plea of Md Heydaitullah, an alleged associate of ISIS, involved in a terror case by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Heydaitullah was accused of using Telegram groups to spread the radical ideology of ISIS and recruit individuals in India. The court emphasized that he was not just a "passive" supporter but actively advocated for violent Jihad to establish a Khilafat.

The accused, an MBA graduate employed at an IT company in Gurugram, had reportedly taken an oath of allegiance to ISIS leaders, including Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in 2018. The court pointed out that ISIS, a declared terrorist organization, has a notorious global presence and the accused, being educated, was well aware of its violent activities.

Despite challenging a trial court’s refusal to grant bail, the Delhi High Court upheld the decision, citing the seriousness of the charges and the evidence against him, including funds transferred for ISIS-related activities and materials linked to the terrorist group.
