In an alarming turn of events, Vijayakanth, the leader of Desiya Murpokku DravidaKazhagam (DMDK), has tested positive for Covid-19. Following this diagnosis, he was promptly admitted to receive medical care, confirmed by officials on Thursday.

Vijayakanth's health took a severe downturn, compelling medical practitioners to place him on a ventilator due to acute breathing complications. This critical step aims to address and stabilize his deteriorating condition caused by the virus.

This isn't the first health setback for Vijayakanth. A few weeks ago, he was admitted to the hospital when his health declined, requiring limited pulmonary support. Despite initial signs of improvement, his condition witnessed a mild worsening within the last 24 hours, according to a bulletin from MIOT International Hospital.

Amidst these concerning updates, the hospital remains cautiously optimistic about Vijayakanth's recovery, expressing confidence in his ability to recuperate fully. However, the medical team anticipates an extended stay of approximately fourteen days to facilitate comprehensive treatment and monitoring.

Vijayakanth's past encounter with Covid-19 dates back to September 2020 when he previously tested positive for the virus. At that time, he underwent treatment at Miot International in Chennai. His prior experience with the virus poses additional challenges in his ongoing battle against the current infection.

As medical experts diligently work toward his recovery, the situation remains tense, highlighting the gravity of COVID-19's impact, even on individuals in influential positions.

This comprehensive update on Vijayakanth's health condition underlines the severity of the ongoing battle against the virus, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance and appropriate preventive measures in the community.
