Nishi Gupta from Kanpur has emerged as the
topper in the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Civil Service (Judicial) Examination (UP
PCSJ), shattering the glass ceiling of her modest background. Nishi's father,
Nirankar Gupta, runs a paan shop in the bustling streets of Kanpur, proving
that education knows no bounds when met with unwavering dedication.
Nishi's journey to success was marked by resilience. She had previously attempted the PCSJ exams in both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, narrowly missing selection by just a few marks. However, her relentless pursuit of her dreams paid off this time as she clinched the top spot.
The Gupta family is a testament to the power of
education. Nishi's elder sister, Shivani, and brother, Yash, are both pursuing
engineering degrees from prestigious IITs, showcasing the family's commitment
to academic excellence.
Nishi's academic journey began with exceptional results in school, where she secured 77% in her 10th-grade exams at Fatima Convent School and followed it up with an impressive 92% in her intermediate exams. She later pursued a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Allahabad University. In 2020, she embarked on her LL.M. journey and today stands triumphant as the top performer in the UP PCSJ examination.
Nirankar Gupta and his brother Manoj jointly
manage the famous paan shop near the JK Temple in Kanpur. Their welcoming
demeanor ensures a constant flow of customers to their paan shop. With their
daughter's remarkable achievement, Nirankar and his wife Rekha are overjoyed
and have even visited several temples to express their gratitude.
