Burj Khalifa's status as the world's tallest building will be lost very soon. This 828-meter-tall building, which used to be the tallest building in the world, will soon become dwarf in front of the newly proposed building in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is now preparing to build a building that will have a height of 2000 meters or 2 km, this building will be the largest 'man-made structure' ever built. This way even the Burj Khalifa will look like a dwarf.
2 km will be the height of the building
A report from MEED states that the capital of Saudi Arabia has plans to build a 2 km high skyscraper in Riyadh. According to this report, the new building will be about two and a half times taller than Dubai's Burj Khalifa. This building will be built in Riyadh in an area of 18 square kilometers. The building will be the centerpiece of a large-scale redevelopment in Saudi Arabia.
This building will be built in 5 billion dollars
According to MEED's report, a total of $5 billion will be spent on the construction of this building. That is why a competition has been organized for the design of this tower. According to the report, the company that will choose the design for this building will receive 1 million dollars. Major real estate companies such as Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill Architecture are preparing designs for this competition.
Will Leave These Mega-Tall Buildings Behind
This building will be about two and a half times taller than the Burj Khalifa, about four times taller than the World Trade Center, and about 20 times taller than Big Ben. For example, Saudi Arabia will overtake many Dubai, America and Great Britain together. There are currently only 4 mega-tall buildings in the world. Dubai's Burj Khalifa tops the megatall. Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai Tower in Shanghai and Makkah Royal Clock Tower in Makkah.
