A firecracker manufacturing unit in West Medinipur was reduced to ashes after a blast

Suvendu Adhikari:-

On Monday, Suvendu Adhikari, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), strongly criticized the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal. His remarks came in response to yet another explosion in the state, believed to be linked to the illegal use of firecrackers.

This incident marked the third explosion within a span of seven days. Adhikari, who holds the position of leader of the opposition in the state assembly, went on to express his concern by stating that the current situation in West Bengal is even more severe than the situation in Ukraine.

Adhikari, in a conversation with news agency ANI, opined that the state of West Bengal is currently facing a more dire situation compared to Ukraine. While Ukraine has experienced relatively fewer explosions, West Bengal has been witnessing a higher frequency of such incidents.

Although there has been a slight improvement in the overall peace in West Bengal, recent events indicate that explosions are still occurring in the region.

An explosion has reportedly occurred in the residence of a prominent Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader in Birbhum district of the state. Prior to this incident, there were similar occurrences in South 24 Parganas district on Sunday, resulting in the tragic deaths of three individuals from a single family.

Additionally, on May 16, two consecutive explosions, preceded by a massive blast in Purba Medinipur district, claimed the lives of twelve people.

Adhikari also discussed the scheduled May 26 court session where TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee's appeal against the Calcutta High Court's decision permitting investigations by the CBI and ED into his involvement in the large-scale School Service Commission recruitment fraud will be heard.

He claimed that although the law is supposed to be impartial and apply to everyone equally, he believes that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) have neglected to take action against Mamata Banerjee concerning the Saradha chit fund Scam, as well as her nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, in cases involving coal and cow smuggling.
