An FIR has been lodged against unidentified individuals for posting objectionable edited videos featuring PM Modi, Yogi Adityanath, and Mahatma Gandhi dancing to Bhojpuri songs.
The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals for allegedly sharing edited videos on social media that depict Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dancing to Bhojpuri songs.
The controversy ignited after social media user Neha Singh Rathore shared the videos, condemning their content and questioning the motives behind their creation. Rathore, who describes herself as a nationalist and social activist, expressed her disapproval, stating, “How can some cheap street reelers use Yogi Ji for a few views?” She emphasized the efforts made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the empowerment of women and criticized the misuse of their images for "cheap popularity."
The videos showcase the leaders engaging in dance and song, which Rathore found disrespectful, particularly regarding the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. In her post, she urged the Ballia police to take immediate action against those responsible for creating and sharing the videos.

An FIR was filed under sections of the Information Technology Act following a complaint by Praveen Singh, who oversees the media cell at Cyber Thana. Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Jha confirmed that an investigation is underway and that legal action will be pursued against those found culpable.
This incident comes on the heels of Prime Minister Modi's light-hearted reaction to animated memes featuring him dancing during the recent Lok Sabha elections, where he described such creativity as “poll humour.” Modi's acceptance of such humorous edits contrasts sharply with the current controversy surrounding the objectionable videos.
