Head-on Collision Claims Two Lives, Injures Six Others in Assam’s Dibrugarh District

At least two people were killed while six were injured after a car in which they were travelling collided with an oncoming truck on September 12.

As per police, the accident occurred late Sunday night in the Lepetkata region of Dibrugarh.

In this incident, an SUV travelling from Dibrugarh to Guwahati collided head-on with an approaching truck.

In the aftermath of the accident, it was revealed that the tragic accident claimed the lives of the car's driver and a woman named Pushpa Sureka.

Officials also disclosed that six more individuals, among them two children and one woman, have been admitted to a hospital for medical care.

Following the incident, a formal case has been filed, and law enforcement agencies are conducting an in-depth investigation into the matter.

In another devastating incident that occurred on Tuesday, seven individuals lost their lives while another 12 sustained injuries in a road accident within Assam's Tinsukia region.

The accident took place in the Kakopathar area on Tuesday night when a speeding truck collided with a Tata Magic vehicle, which was carrying the victims.

In a phone conversation with ANI, the Additional Superintendent of Police for Tinsukia district, Bibhas Das, confirmed that seven individuals had tragically lost their lives in the incident.

"A total of 12 persons were injured in the incident and they were rushed to hospital.

We have detained the truck driver," Das added.
