Introduction:

Govt of India has announced a scheme for a waiver of tuition fees which many of us dont know and end up spending huge amounts on education. Let's read on to know this scheme.

In India’s middle-class society, there is a common myth that letting the new generation to go college, cost them Lakhs of money, and sometimes it becomes a major problem for the family to provide higher education to their children.

But the tuition fee waiver scheme  is something, they can avail instead of paying lakhs of rupees on education in these times when the fees are so high that the common family has to shed off a considerable part of their earnings.

This scheme gives a great relief for such families. But this scheme has remained under-utilised owing to the sheer  lack of information in  the target group of the society.

The Tuition Fee Waiver is a Government of India Scheme announced by the  All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in the year 2011.

It became very helpful for those students who are unable to meet the financial requirements of paying college fees.

With this scheme, they can think of fulfilling their dreams of higher education without worrying about their financial condition as a barrier to their education.

But due to the lack of awareness, most of students use facilities like students loan which put an unnecessary burden on their families.

The TFW scheme is mandatory for every government-approved institution by the council and 5% of seats are available for these admissions.

The competent authority for admission shall be the same as for regular admissions. To know the more about the scheme lets read on the salient features of the scheme.

  • Each beneficiary student enrolled under this plan shall get a letter in this regard from the relevant authorities for admissions, and he or she shall not be permitted to change Institutions/courses under any circumstances.
  • For the benefit of students and other stakeholders, the Institutions must also post information about accepted candidates on their websites.

  1. Regarding admission the institution will publish in its brochure and on the website the details of this scheme.
  1. Candidates who want to opt for these additional seats will have to specify their willingness in the options form as a separate choice code.

The main purpose of this article is to make available this very useful information for the benefit of all such deserving students who dream of getting quality higher education but make compromises considering the financial condition of the family.

This scheme of the government of India is really useful for all such candidates but due to lack of information, most of the students fail to avail it.

Hope the word about the scheme is spread so that all can avail of its benefits.  This will facilitate the needy and deserving students to get higher education without putting their families under financial burden of education loans.
