Trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar's parents are missing as police investigate allegations of misconduct and an Arms Act violation. The case involves claims of fake certificates, misuse of power, and questionable UPSC selection processes, prompting a government probe.
This is regarding the civil service selection controversy involving trainee IAS officer, Puja Khedkar, in which her parents have gone missing as the police search for them across Maharashtra. The mother of Puja, Manorama Khedkar who is the sarpanch of Bhalgaon village and she is caught under the Arms Act charges for brandishing a pistol during an altercation. Her husband, a retired state government officer Dilip Khedkar, is also an accused in the same case.
Three police teams are now trying to trace the couple in Mumbai, Pune and Ahmadnagar respectively. Law enforcement agencies claim that the Khedkars have been unhelpful in the developments of the investigation.
The trouble started when Pune Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase questioned Khedkar’s request of special privileges during her probation station. Further probes brought some more shows of corruption charges such as misuse of power through installing a red-blue beacon on her private Audi car and relaxation in the civil service selection procedure.
UPSC had raised an objection to the appointment of Khedkar and they took the matter to the Central Administrative Tribunal and as a result, her selection was put on hold. But she was later appointed under OBC and Multiple Disability category which bring question mark over the change of heart of UPSC.
In an interview aired before he went out of reach, Dilip Khedkar stood for his daughter saying she did not commit any wrong and that she is an N-C-O-R-B categorized as a non creamy layer. He also said that Puja was able to use a luxury car for official work without any approval from the government due to the non-availability of a government car.
