India has contacted Bangladesh's military leadership, offering support to restore peace following PM Sheikh Hasina's ouster. The Modi government is navigating complex diplomatic waters, balancing support for stability with concerns about rising radicalism and economic challenges in Bangladesh. This move underscores India's role in maintaining regional stability amid neighborhood uncertainties.

In the wake of recent political upheaval in Bangladesh, India has taken proactive steps to engage with the country's military leadership. The Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has reached out to Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-us-Zaman, offering support to restore peace and normalcy in the strife-torn nation.

The move comes after the unexpected ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday, which has left Bangladesh in a state of uncertainty. India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has been at the forefront of these diplomatic efforts, emphasizing the need for dialogue and stability in the neighboring country.

During an all-party meeting, Jaishankar addressed concerns about potential Pakistani interference in Bangladesh's internal affairs. He pointed to social media activity of Pakistani diplomats displaying images of the Bangladeshi opposition, suggesting that Pakistan's role is still under scrutiny.

The Modi government is carefully assessing the situation, aware of the delicate balance required in handling the aftermath of this political shift. India's approach appears to be focused on supporting a peaceful transition while respecting Bangladesh's sovereignty. The ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is reportedly being treated as a guest of the country, with decisions about her future left to her discretion.

India's concern stems from the potential rise of radical elements in Bangladesh, which could pose security challenges on its eastern front. The situation is further complicated by Bangladesh's looming economic crisis, mirroring issues faced by other South Asian nations like Pakistan, Maldives, and Sri Lanka.

As Bangladesh grapples with political uncertainty and the threat of rising unemployment, India finds itself navigating a complex diplomatic landscape. The Modi government's strategy involves offering support to stabilize the interim government while remaining vigilant about cross-border challenges and internal security issues.

This development underscores the volatile nature of South Asian politics and highlights India's crucial role in maintaining regional stability amidst growing uncertainties in its neighborhood.
