A top US official with experience in counter terrorism issued a warning just days after militants of the Islamic State Khorasan Province attacked a concert venue in Moscow. This person asserted that ISIS-K would perhaps enter the country and conduct a similar attack on American territory.

There have been claims that 15 people were held by Customs and Border Patrol (CPB) officials at the southern border in 2021, 98 in 2022, and 169 in 2023 on suspicion of being terrorists.

A current federal official who spoke to The Post under anonymity claimed that ISIS—K's ultraviolent branch is growing "bolder" and that its members will try to take advantage of the unrest at the US-Mexico border to select a "bigger" target.

A statement to the effect that "an attack on US soil is definitely a possibility" was made.

These incidents take place as concerns mount that hundreds of people are trying to cross the border and join ISIS-K, an extremist organization that is actively seeking fresh recruits.

"They hate us and everything we stand for," the counterterrorism officer said, adding, "They're bold and they're always looking for victims." It is noteworthy that American officials are taking the possibility of an ISIS-K strike on US soil "very seriously."

Following the Moscow attacks, an ex-US Army captain expressed "huge concern" about terrorists attempting to enter the US through the unsecured border. Experts have predicted that ISIS-K will target Europe next, but this has not changed.

In a statement sent to The Post, he stated that if a tiny group of people were to acquire weapons and launch an attack on a major event such as a concert, baseball game, or Times Square in New York City, the United States would be overrun by terrorists.

He went on to explain that Tajikistan was a major sponsor of the terrorist organization ISIS-K and that several of its members who assaulted Moscow were from that nation.
