Barbie

Following Juhi Parmar's recent critique of Greta Gerwig's new Barbie movie, citing "explicit content" and "inappropriate language," fellow TV actor Jay Bhanushali has now echoed a similar sentiment. Like Juhi, Jay accompanied his young daughter to the screening of the movie and shared his concerns about its content.

On Wednesday, Jay Bhanushali took to his Instagram Stories, sharing a candid video recounting his experience of watching Barbie with his daughter. He exclaimed, "Trust me guys, it's like piles. I'm saving you, your money, and your mental balance. I've never seen a worse film than this—it's super, super, super bad." With a tone of disbelief, he emphasized that the movie is not worth the hype and left everyone stunned. "I took two days to make this video because I couldn't believe what kind of film they've made and how it's being promoted as a kids' movie. But it's neither for kids nor adults," he added.

The most amusing thing was that since I had already paid for the movie, I was attempting to endure it until the end. However, just half an hour into the film, my daughter said, "Dad, I'm falling asleep. I can't watch this. Either take me home." I tried to convince her, saying, "No, sweetheart, it's a good film." But the look she gave me, I can't even express how she judged me based on the movie. She seemed to be thinking, "If my dad can like this movie, then… what can I say." Trust me, your kids will doubt you. Even if you insist on watching the film, they will question your taste and choices. So, please beware," Jay shared in the video.

On Monday, Juhi Parmar took to Instagram as well and penned a thought-provoking four-page open letter directed towards the new Barbie movie. In the caption, she expressed her awareness that her audience might not be entirely pleased with her message, but she felt compelled to share it as a concerned parent addressing Barbie. Understanding the significance of responsible parenting, Juhi urged other parents not to repeat the mistake she made and emphasized the importance of checking the movie's content before taking their children to watch it. The decision ultimately rests with each parent.
