Bengaluru, Karnataka, August 7, 2023 - Spandana, the wife of well-known Kannada actor Vijay Raghavendra, breathed her last in Bangkok on Monday. The couple was on a family vacation in Thailand when the unfortunate event occurred.


Spandana, daughter of retired police officer B K Shivaram, was married to Vijay Raghavendra in 2007. The couple shared a son.


The news of Spandana's demise has left the entertainment industry and the state in shock. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his condolences, saying, "The demise of Spandana, the wife of popular Kannada actor Vijaya Raghavendra has shocked me. I pray for her soul. I condole with the bereaved families of Vijaya Raghavendra and B.K. Shivaram."

Popular Kannada actor and director Vijay Raghvendra's wife Spandana passed away at the age of 45 in Bangkok after suffering a sudden heart attack on Monday, August 7.

Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai also shared his thoughts, writing, "I pray to God that her soul rests in peace. I pray to God to give strength to the families of Vijaya Raghavendra and B.K. Shivaram in this moment of grief."


Spandana's sudden demise has cast a pall of sadness over the Kannada film fraternity and the entire state. The actor's wife was widely admired for her grace and humility.

As per the reports, Spandana was in Thailand's capital for a vacation.

Vijay Raghavendra, a prominent figure in the Kannada film industry, tied the knot with Spandana in 2007. They had been enjoying a vacation in Bangkok with their family when the tragedy struck.
