Three abandoned houses were set ablaze by unidentified individuals in the New Lambulane locality of Imphal, the capital city of Manipur on Sunday. 


Firefighters quickly responded to extinguish the flames, preventing further destruction.

In Imphal, Manipur, three houses were set ablaze, prompting demands for increased security, while unidentified individuals snatched firearms in another incident.

As per a report by PTI, the incident escalated when concerned residents gathered in the area, demanding increased security measures in their neighborhood. Their calls were met with the deployment of state and central forces, who later resorted to firing tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.


In a separate incident that unfolded around 2 am on the same day, unidentified assailants targeted the residence of former health and family welfare director K. Rajo in Sagolband Bijoy Govinda, Imphal West district. 


During the daring attack, the assailants managed to snatch three firearms from the security personnel guarding the premises. Among the weapons taken were two AK series rifles and a carbine.


Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding this audacious theft. Police forces are determined to track down the culprits and recover the stolen firearms through multiple operations.
