Indian travelers planning to visit Dubai are facing widespread visa rejections due to the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) recently introduced stringent visa requirements. Reports suggest a sharp increase in daily visa rejection rates, now at 5-6%, compared to the previous 1-2%.

The new regulations mandate applicants to submit confirmed hotel bookings, return tickets, and proof of adequate financial resources, including three months' bank statements with a minimum balance of ₹50,000. Those staying with relatives must also provide host documents such as Emirates ID, rental agreements, and residence visa copies. Despite adhering to these requirements, many applicants are still being denied visas, causing frustration and financial losses.

Travel agencies report significant monetary impacts on tourists, as rejected applications lead to wasted visa fees and losses from pre-booked flights and accommodations. Nikhil Kumar of Passio Travels cited cases where even meticulously prepared applications were rejected. Similarly, Vijay Thakkar from Hasmukh Travels detailed incidents where travelers faced over ₹30,000 in combined losses from visa fees and ticket cancellations.

Travel experts are advising applicants to strictly adhere to genuine documentation, as fake or dummy bookings could lead to long-term complications. Nilesh Bhansali, president of the Travel Agents Association of Pune, emphasized the importance of submitting authentic information to avoid jeopardizing future travel plans.
