MEA Intends To Organise Exhibition Focusing on Heritage & Science For spouses of G20 Participants: Meenakahi Lekhi

The Minister of State at the Ministry of External Affairs, Meenakashi Lekhi, shared details about the itinerary designed for the partners of world leaders.
While Speaking to ANI, she mentioned that India intends to introduce the spouses to its rich cultural heritage and scientific expertise as they spend time in Delhi. The minister provided further details, stating that the spouses of G20 leaders will have the opportunity to attend the G20 Summit on September 9th.
They will not only participate in the G20 Summit activities but also have interactions with women farmers, as well as a look at some of the leading research laboratories.
"Their first experience will be about millet, which is our traditional diet...In the second half, there will be an exhibition called 'Roots to Roots' where we will showcase the oldest chariot in the world..,” she told ANI.
The Minister of State for Culture of India pointed out that India's immense agricultural potential is known to a limited number of people.
She remarked, "Our country was deficient in food production and now we have reached from low to surplus food production. People need to know that aspect of science also."
The minister further informed, "The first experience will be about millets. India has been eating millets for a few thousand years. Then we would be showcasing our heritage and the scientific part."
Lekhi also explained that the latter part of the day for the spouses of global leaders would revolve around an exhibition titled 'Roots to Roots.'
"We are going to showcase the oldest chariot in the world which we have excavated from Sinauli. We have a collection of lithographs which is about our ancient musical instruments," she added.
As per the minister, this holds significance because, during President Draupadi Murmu's dinner for all the Heads of State, a three-hour performance that highlights these ancient musical instruments from both the Hindustani and Carnatic traditions of traditional Indian music has also been arranged.
