Mild Earthquake of 4.3 Magnitude Strikes Andaman Sea, No Damage Reported

The National Center for Seismology on Friday said that a mild earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale took place in the Andaman Sea.
The NCS has provided information that the earthquake's depth was measured to be at a distance of 10 km below the surface, located at latitude 9.43 and longitude 94.20, causing tremors in the region.
The occurrence was precisely recorded at 12:07 pm Indian Standard Time (IST) on that day.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the NCS shared the details of the earthquake, stating, "Earthquake of Magnitude:4.3, Occurred on 18-08-2023, 12:07:36 IST, Lat: 9.43 & Long: 94.20, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Andaman Sea."
A few days back two earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 hit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands within 72 Hours.
On Thursday afternoon, Meghalaya's Nongpoh experienced an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4. Its epicentre was situated at a depth of 10 km to the west-southwest of Nongpoh.
The National Center for Seismology reported that the earthquake occurred precisely at 2:36 pm.
The official X account of the National Center for Seismology shared the details of the occurrence, stating, "Earthquake of Magnitude:3.4, Occurred on 17-08-2023, 14:36:32 IST, Lat: 25.77 & Long: 91.44, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 40km WSW of Nongpoh, Meghalaya."
