Two groups, including a woman, clashed with each other in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district, said an official.
As per the police, three persons have been detained for their alleged connection in the incident following the woman's complaint.
The incident took place on Saturday night near a shopping mall located within the Vijayanagar police station jurisdiction in the city.
The woman, accompanied by a man, had visited the mall. During their visit, a disagreement unfolded between their group and the other party, comprising three men, over a certain issue.
This dispute escalated into a fight, and a video capturing the incident has also surfaced on social media.
"A video has come to the notice of the Vijayanagar police station area in which two parties are fighting with each other, including a woman,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP, Zone 2) Abhishek Anan.
He informed, "As soon as the police received a complaint in this regard, on the basis of it, the police registered a case under section IPC 354 and other relevant sections into the matter.”
Moreover, the officer also added that the police have taken into custody the three individuals who were identified in the video of the incident.
While elaborating on the matter, the DCP provided further details, stating, “There is a mall in the city, where the woman along with a man had gone there. The other party, which has three men, had a dispute over some issue with them there.”
“After that, the male section started fighting and the girl came to the rescue but she was also assaulted during this", he added.
As soon as the police were made aware of the incident, they took immediate action by registering a First Information Report (FIR) in relation to the matter.
