New Parliament Building: Vice President Dhankar to Unfurl Tricolour a Day Before the Special Session

On 17th September, 2023, the Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankar will hoist the national flag at the new Parliament building. This will happen a day before the upcoming Parliament Session in 2023.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will be present at this event too. It's worth noting that this event aligns with the auspicious Vishwakarma Puja and the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, Ministers of State of Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghawal and V. Muraleedharan, along with Leaders of Political Parties in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, and other esteemed individuals will participate in this event.
To ensure the seamless functioning of both Houses during the Special session of Parliament, the government has organized an all-party meeting on 17th September, 2023.
The Special Session will commemorate Parliament's 75-year journey, tracing back to the inaugural meeting of the Samvidhan Sabha on December 9, 1946.
A discussion titled 'Parliamentary Journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha Achievements, Experiences, Memories, and Learnings' will take place in Parliament on the first day of the five-sitting special session, as stated in a parliamentary bulletin on Wednesday.
It's expected that Parliament will commence its operations from the new building during this session.
