Omar Abdullah asks Kashmir people to Send Message on Article 370 to Centre

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, who had been detained for more than 200 days after Article 370—which had granted Jammu and Kashmir special status—spoke to a group of party members on Wednesday. He said, "Do not vote for the National Conference if you believe that the decision was correct." If you believe that this option has improved your lives, you should not vote for us.
The former chief minister and prominent leader of the National Conference, Omar Abdullah, has said that voters who approve of the federal government's proposal to remove Article 370 and reclassify Jammu and Kashmir as a union territory ought not to back his National Conference party. The intention is to increase the focus of the 2019 LokSabha elections on the actions of the BJP-led national government.
In this election, there is only one question that needs to be addressed, and that is:

Abdullah contends that voting is the best way for the public to express their disapproval of the option. He asked you to vote for us if, after August 5, 2019, you thought you had been wronged and misled.
He went on to advise his party members not to meddle with law and order or take part in nonviolent protests, saying that voting was their only option.
We don't want to encourage conflict or violence among the young people in our neighborhood. Abdullah said that we are the ones who have sacrificed our lives for the cause of peace.
Notably, unlike the Congress's two battles in the State, the National Conference is running for three seats in Jammu: Srinagar, Baramulla, and Anantnag.
The Jammu and Kashmir Re organisation Act of 2019 divided the erstwhile state and eliminated Ladakh's unique status, converting it into a union territory. Ladakh's citizens are demonstrating their support for the state's status and the constitutional guarantees of land, work, and other rights mentioned in the sixth schedule by going to the streets. Article 370 used to safeguard certain rights.
