Sheikh has maintained this heartfelt tradition for the past three decades, sending a Rakhi to Modi each year.
"I have personally crafted the 'Rakhi' this time. Along with it, I will give him a book on agriculture as he has a keen interest in reading. After the Covid-19 limitations of the last couple of years, I'm eager to meet him in person this time," Sheikh, who migrated to India from Pakistan after her marriage, shared with news agency ANI.
Sheikh elaborated, "I've picked up a red-colored Rakhi for him, which stands for vigor". In the past, I had hoped that he would rise to the position of Chief Minister of Gujarat, and he eventually did. I have often told him through Rakhi that I want him to be Prime Minister. His affirming words and support meant a lot to me.
She wished the Prime Minister a happy Raksha Bandhan last year and mentioned that she was looking forward to finally meeting him in person this year. She expressed certainty that he would be elected Prime Minister once again in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He is deserving of this recognition for his efforts, and I pray for his continued leadership of India.
On the joyous occasion of Raksha Bandhan, sisters all over the world pray for the health and long life of their brothers by tying a sacred thread (Rakhi) around the latter's wrists. Sisters today are more likely than ever to return the favour. Raksha Bandhan is a significant Hindu festival celebrated all over India during the month of Shravana, which corresponds roughly to the month of August.
Qamar Mohsin Sheikh's consistent tradition of sending a Rakhi to Prime Minister Modi has garnered attention and serves as a testament to their unique bond.
