In a momentous event celebrating the centenary of Delhi University, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a new chapter in the institution's growth. With great enthusiasm, he laid the foundation stones for DU's Computer Centre, Faculty of Technology, and the Academic Block, setting the stage for remarkable advancements.

 

Addressing the audience, PM Modi declared, "Just as the third decade of the 20th century ignited the freedom movement, the third decade of the 21st century will ignite our nation's development journey. In recent years, we have witnessed a remarkable surge in the number of prestigious institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, and AIIMS, which are forming the bedrock of New India."

Reflecting on DU's remarkable evolution, the Prime Minister reminisced, "There was a time when Delhi University comprised only three colleges, but today it boasts a staggering number of over 90 colleges. In a similar vein, India has transcended its identity as a fragile economy to become one of the world's top five economies. Notably, the number of female students enrolled in DU now surpasses that of their male counterparts."

Highlighting India's growing influence globally, PM Modi proclaimed that Indian universities are being recognized more today in the global platform. He backed his words by stating the QS World University Rankings' statistics, which included 45 Indian universities compared to 12 in 2014. 

 

With these transformative initiatives, Delhi University embarks on an exciting era of progress, nurturing brilliance and shaping the future of education in India.
