Reliance Foundation Unveils 10-Point Rescue Plan For Odisha Train Tragedy Victims

Reliance Foundation has implemented a comprehensive 10-point relief strategy aimed at assisting the victims affected by the tragic Odisha train accident. With 275 fatalities and approximately 1,000 injured, it is considered one of India's most severe train disasters.

 

The foundation has taken swift action and deployed its disaster management team to aid in relief efforts.

The 10-point relief plan includes several critical measures:

1. Ambulances responding to the disaster will receive free fuel through the Jio-BP network.

2. Affected families will receive six months of free ration supplies, including flour, sugar, dal, rice, salt, and cooking oil, from Reliance stores.

3. Free medicines will be provided to the injured, supporting their immediate recovery needs. Hospitalization expenses will also be covered.

4. Counseling services will be available to offer emotional and psychosocial support to those affected by the tragedy.

5. Employment opportunities will be extended to one family member of each deceased individual through Jio and Reliance Retail.

6. Support aids such as wheelchairs and artificial limbs will be provided to individuals with disabilities.

7. Specialized skill training programs will be offered to help those impacted find new employment opportunities.

8. Microfinance and training opportunities will be provided to women who have lost their sole earning family members.

9. Livestock, including cows, buffalos, goats, and poultry, will be given to rural families affected by the accident to support alternate livelihoods.

10. A family member of each bereaved individual will receive free mobile connectivity for a year to aid in their rebuilding process.
