The Delhi government issued a notification on Tuesday about traffic in the city because of the G20 summit that's coming up.
These rules say that from midnight on September 7 until the end of the day on September 10, certain roads in Delhi won't allow big trucks, commercial vehicles, long-distance buses, or local city buses. The roads affected are Mathura Road (past Ashram Chowk), Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road, and the tunnel at Pragati Maidan.
The notification specified that goods vehicles transporting Essential Commodities like milk, vegetables, fruits, medical supplies, and others with valid 'No Entry Permissions' would receive entry permission into Delhi.
From 5 am on September 8 to 23:59 hours on September 10, the entire New Delhi District will be designated as "Controlled Zone-I," as outlined in the notification.
Similarly, from 5 am on September 8 to 23:59 hours on September 10, the entire area within the Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg) will be categorized as a "Regulated Zone."
The notice said that only people who live there, official vehicles, emergency vehicles, and cars taking passengers to the Airport, Old Delhi, and New Delhi Railway Stations can use the roads in New Delhi District.
From 5 am on September 9 until the end of the day on September 10, no auto-rickshaws (TSR) or taxis can drive in New Delhi District.
Also, the notice mentioned that all kinds of big vehicles like buses that are already in Delhi can use the Ring Road and the roads outside the Ring Road that go to the edges of Delhi.
India is getting ready to have the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10. Important leaders from around the world will come to New Delhi for this meeting. They will have the meeting at the very modern Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
It's interesting to know that India started leading the G20 group on December 1 of the year before, and they organized nearly 200 meetings about the G20 in 60 cities across the country.
