A body believed to be that of missing TV presenter Michael Mosley was found near cliffs on the Greek island of Symi, bringing a tragic end to the five-day search since he went for a walk and didn't return.
A body has been found in the search for the missing TV presenter and author Dr Michael Mosley who was reported missing on Symi Island last Wednesday. The 67-year-old was on holiday when he left his wife on a beach to go for a walk around 11:local time and did not return until the next day at around 30am.
When his wife informed the authorities that he was missing later that day, an extensive search was conducted with firefighters, search and rescue dogs, helicopters, drones, and local people combing the rugged, alpine terrain of the island.
Unfortunately, the search team discovered a body that was suspected to be that of Dr. Mosley on a small cliff at Pedi, northeast of Agia Marina Beach on Sunday. A police source revealed that the deceased had been dead for several days before the body was discovered.
The mayor of Symi said that the sad find was made at night when using cameras to search the shorelines. Although the body has not been officially identified yet, the grim discovery puts an end to a five-day search operation.
Michael Mosley was a well-loved personality, famous for his television shows focused on diets, health, and science such as Trust Me, I’m a Doctor. He also presented the BBC Radio 4 podcast Just One Thing which has been a huge success. It is very sad to be informed that he died at a young age while on a holiday.
