Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane has ignited a political and social debate with his controversial comments about the recent stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence. Speaking at a rally in Alandi, Rane questioned the authenticity of Saif's injuries, suggesting the actor might have been "acting."

The incident occurred on January 16, when Saif was allegedly attacked by a Bangladeshi intruder, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, during a robbery attempt. Rane referred to Saif as "garbage" and stated that such elements should be removed, indirectly linking the attack to the presence of Bangladeshi immigrants in Mumbai.

Rane also criticised the attention the incident received, alleging that it was because of Saif’s religion. He compared the reaction to the lack of support for Hindu actors like Sushant Singh Rajput, who faced hardships in the past. The minister further targeted Bangladeshi immigrants, claiming they have transitioned from working on streets to intruding into homes.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar responded cautiously, stating he would review the situation and consult with the police. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam expressed doubts over Saif's swift recovery, adding to the ongoing speculation.
