PM Modi has graced the occasion of the first trip of the
Vande Bharat Express Trains by flagging it off the Chennai and Secunderabad
railways stations. It is a proud moment for the country to see the railway
infrastructure evolving at a faster pace under the visionary leadership of PM
Narendra Modi.
One of the crucial features of the Vande Bharat Express trains is that some of the set routes link major pilgrim spots. PM Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train linking Hyderabad (the city of the Bhagyalakshmi temple) and Tirupati (the city of Lord Venkateswara).
Goddess Bhagyalakshmi’s makeshift temple is situated in
Hyderabad near the Charminar. Tirupati, however, as a renowned pilgrim spot,
needs no introduction.
The striking feature of the Vande Bharat Express connecting
these two locations is that the travel time has been reduced by 3.5 hours. Very
aptly, PM Modi in his speech after flagging off the train, said, “Vande Bharat
Express represents a convergence of faith, modernity, technology, and tourism.”
PM Modi flagged off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat
Express train from the MGR Chennai Central Railway Station while also
inaugurating the Secunderabad railway station’s progressive redevelopment plan.
It is the second Vande Bharat train starting from Chennai after the
Chennai-Mysore Vande Bharat Express.
The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, the 13th
train in the series, was also flagged off by the PM from Secunderabad. This
train will reduce the travel time between its starting and final destination by
3 hours 20 mins.
During this moment of pride, PM Modi said, “Vande Bharat
Express is synonymous with pride, comfort, and connectivity. The train between
Secunderabad and Tirupati will benefit tourism, particularly spiritual tourism.
It will also boost economic growth.”
