Terrorist Killed in Encounter Jammu and Kashmir; Search Ongoing for Others

In a major turn of events, security forces on Saturday killed a terrorist in an encounter in the Jammu and Kashmir town of Uri, in the Baramulla region. The Hathlanga forward neighbourhood of Uri was the scene of the encounter.
The Kashmir Zone Police shared this information via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, stating, "One terrorist killed. Search going on. Further details shall follow."
Simultaneously, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, resumed its operations for the fourth consecutive day against terrorists reportedly "holed up" in the forested region of Gadole, situated in the Kokernag area of Anantnag district.
According to official reports, security forces are engaged with an estimated 2-3 terrorists in the rugged terrain of Anantnag district.
Quoting Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, the Kashmir Zone Police shared a statement on X a day ago, stating, "Retired Police/Army officers should avoid the 'Ambush Hypothesis.' It is a specific input-based operation. The operation is in progress, and all 2-3 trapped terrorists will be neutralized."
The Army has diligently established a tight cordon-off in the area to corner and neutralize the terrorists.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that a soldier who had been reported missing since Thursday sadly lost his life during the ongoing encounter in Anantnag. Security officials conveyed, "One more soldier has lost his life in the Anantnag operations. He had been reported missing since yesterday (Thursday)."
The operations continue as security forces maintain their efforts to eliminate the terrorists from the region.
