While travelling from Patna to Kota, tragedy struck the Patna-Kota Express, leaving two people dead and six more in severe condition. Authorities believe dehydration had a role in the tragic deaths. The Agra station serves as the location of the event on the North Central Railways.


According to the police investigation, some ninety Chhattisgarh residents set off on a train pilgrimage. However, some travellers started to feel nervous and uncomfortable about halfway through the trip. Two of the travellers had sudden and fatal declines in health. Six passengers became gravely ill, a tragic turn of events. As the seriousness of the situation became clear, the train was filled with shouts of distress and pleas for assistance.

Authorities in the rail industry reacted swiftly to the occurrence. The passengers who fell ill were taken to various hospitals in Agra. One patient required specialised care and was sent to the S.N. Medical College in addition to the five who were admitted to local hospitals.


The Agra Division's PRO for North Central Railways, Mr. Prashasti Srivastava, reported that the railway's hotline had received a call about sick passengers on an air-conditioned carriage. At the Agra Cantt train station, doctors pronounced a 62-year-old woman and a 65-year-old male dead. The sick passengers were immediately attended to by the station's medical staff. All of the impacted travellers were a part of the same religious group.
