Tulsi Gabbard, appointed by Trump as the Director of National Intelligence, has long advocated for minority rights, condemning Pakistan and Bangladesh for alleged abuses against Hindus. Her record in Congress includes pushing legislation to cut U.S. support to terror-affiliated states, aligning with Trump’s campaign focus on safeguarding religious minorities.
President-elect Donald Trump has appointed former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in his administration. Gabbard, the first Hindu Congresswoman in the U.S., has a history of criticizing Pakistan and Bangladesh over alleged human rights abuses against Hindu and other minority communities. She has consistently voiced concerns about the treatment of minorities, pushing for accountability and support for those affected.
In 2021, Gabbard introduced a resolution in the U.S. Congress calling for the protection of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, citing the 1971 atrocities where an estimated 2-3 million Bengali Hindus were reportedly killed by the Pakistani military. She has also criticized Pakistan for permitting terrorist organizations to use its territories against India and Afghanistan, asserting that Pakistan’s actions have regional destabilizing effects.
Since her time in Congress, Gabbard has advocated for the U.S. to cut military aid to Pakistan and pushed for legislation, including the "Stop Arming Terrorists Act" in 2017, to prevent U.S. funding from reaching countries supporting terrorism. The Trump campaign has aligned with Gabbard’s stance, raising awareness about violence against Hindu and other minorities in Bangladesh, especially after Sheikh Hasina's ouster and subsequent student protests.

Gabbard’s appointment to the DNI reflects a commitment to a hard stance on terrorism and human rights abuses, consistent with Trump’s campaign emphasis on protecting religious minorities worldwide.
