Adding on to the series of extrajudicial killings that have been taking place across the country, UP gangster Anil Dujana was killed in an encounter by UP Police's special task force(STF).

Gangster Anil Dujana was infamous for terrorising the inhabitants in the areas of Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi-National Capital Region. He was out on bail when he was killed by the special task force in Meerut. Dujana, who faced more than 60 criminal cases, had got bail in a murder case a week ago. As soon as he came out of imprisonment, he went back to his old self. He began to threaten a key witness in the murder case filed against him and was determined to kill him. The police were left with no other option and they did not want to take any risk.

This forced the STF to intervene, who then decided to arrest Dujana. While they were attempting to arrest him, Dujana along with his gang engaged the police. This led to a gunfight which ultimately caused his death. As per sources, Dujana and his gang were hiding behind tall bushes surrounding an unpaved road in a village in Meerut. When the STF operatives approached them, they fired at them, which compelled the police to fire back immediately.
