In a tragic event, a precision missile strike rocked the village of Hroza in eastern Ukraine, shattering a cafe where locals had gathered for a soldier's wake. The cafe, previously closed during the war, was reopened for the occasion, drawing mourners from nearly every household in the village.

The devastating strike, reportedly launched by Russian forces according to Ukrainian officials, claimed 52 lives out of the village's population of 300. Families were obliterated, leaving the community in profound grief. Suspicion now hangs over whether a local resident may have leaked the cafe's coordinates to the Russians.

A day after the strike, an earth mover worked tirelessly to extend the graveyard, making room for the victims. Among them were a couple survived by their four children, a respected community leader, and three generations of the soldier's family. DNA identification of the remains could take months, as names are currently inscribed on makeshift markers.

Only six individuals emerged alive from the cafe's wreckage, leaving the town grappling with the inexplicable targeting of the wake. Hroza, like much of the region, endured six months of Russian occupation until Ukrainian forces liberated the area in September 2022.

Locals affirm the area's strictly civilian nature, devoid of any military presence, be it Russian or Ukrainian. They emphasize that only civilians and family attended the funeral and wake, with villagers alone privy to the event's details.

Ukrainian officials identified the weapon as a precision Iskander-style missile, known for its accuracy within 5 to 7 meters. Investigators are now examining whether someone from the area leaked the cafe's coordinates, betraying the grieving community in Hroza.

This tragedy leaves Valerii and Liubov Kozyr with the heart-wrenching responsibility of caring for their grandchildren, who lost their parents and grandparents in the strike. The couple's cherished family rituals have been shattered, leaving a void that may never be filled. The village now mourns a loss that defies understanding.
