The airline Vistara announced on Monday that it was forced to reduce its flight schedule because of a shortage of pilots and other personnel.
A representative for the company stated that "crew unavailability" was one of the reasons behind the recent spate of delays and cancellations of flights.
Wider-body aircraft, such as the 787 Dreamliner, are being used on select domestic routes by Vistara, a joint venture between the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, "to accommodate more passengers, wherever possible," according to an airline official.
The airline, which is set to combine with Air India, which is owned by Tata, experienced similar problems last month.

Numerous pilots have reported feeling ill, according to reports from local media sites. Vistara retorted that the disruption was caused by both unanticipated repair requirements and the pilot's absence, contending that the pilot's absence was insufficient to account for the issue.
At the same time as Vistara's flight interruption, Indian airlines were given until June 2nd to adhere to new laws covering pilots' rest and duty times. Globally, a large number of pilots and experts in aviation safety have voiced their opposition to this action.
