Wagner Chief's Provocative Taunt: 'Plant a Kiss on Biden's Head'—Zelensky Targeted on Bakhmut

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner group in Russia, made a statement claiming that his fighters successfully took control of Bakhmut. However, Ukraine's military spokesperson, Serhiy Cherevatyi, swiftly refuted this claim, stating that Ukrainian units were actively engaged in combat in Bakhmut.

 

In an attempt to support his assertion, Prigozhin shared a video purportedly from the frontlines, showing his fighters proudly displaying Russian flags and Wagner group banners.

 

Earlier today, at noon, Bakhmut was seized entirely. The city was captured in its entirety, with a thorough search conducted from one house to another," stated Prigozhin. The struggle for dominance over Bakhmut has been the most protracted and deadliest conflict in Ukraine.

 

The leader of the Wagner group stated that his troops will commence their withdrawal from Bakhmut on May 25th to regroup, subsequently relinquishing control to the Russian military.

 

During the G-7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Joe Biden had a meeting. Wagner Group's chief, Yevgeny Prigozhin, sarcastically suggested that when Zelensky meets Biden, he should greet him by kissing the top of his head and convey his greetings on Prigozhin's behalf.

 

Prigozhin expressed his dissatisfaction with the Russian army, claiming that his troops endured significantly greater casualties due to insufficient support and ammunition provisions. He accused Shoigu of making decisions based on personal preferences, resulting in five times more fatalities than necessary.
