Android users now have a reason to be delighted as YouTube is in the process of testing a search feature that enables song identification through humming.

According to information available on YouTube's support page, the platform is currently in the testing phase for a song search feature within the Android version of its app.

YouTube's Android app is now testing a hum-to-search feature.

This feature will enable users to identify songs on YouTube through humming, singing, or recording, as reported by TechCrunch. For users granted access to this experiment, there is an option to switch from the regular YouTube voice search to this new song search feature.

They can hum, sing, or record a song for a duration of at least three seconds or more. Following this, the platform will recognize the song and provide the user with relevant YouTube videos related to that particular song.

These videos may include the official music video, user-generated content, or Shorts featuring that particular song. The ability to search for songs using this method is presently only accessible to a select group of Android users.

It's important to mention that this feature is not entirely new to Google, as it previously introduced a hum-to-search feature in the Google app and Google Assistant back in 2020.
