7th Defence Policy Dialogue between India and Japan Held:-

In a leading diplomatic development in the field of defense between India and Japan, Giridhar Armane, the Indian Defence Secretary, and the Japanese Vice Minister of Defense for International Affairs, Oka Masami, led the India-Japan 7th Defence Policy Dialogue jointly. The Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was also part of the dialogue.

Consensual Points Reached During The Dialogue:


  1. Both India and Japan cherish the goal of having a “free, open, secure, and rules-based” system in the Indo-Pacific region.

  2. Cyber and space security are a few emerging fields in which both countries agreed to increase collaborative efforts.


Positive Signs from Japan:


Japan has expressed its deep interest to collaborate with India in many ways:

  1. Japan acknowledged India as its ‘indispensable partner’ in achieving its larger dream of defense in the Indo-Pacific region.

  2. Japan has also expressed that it is eager to increase collaboration with India in the field of defense equipment and technology.


Significance of The Dialogue:


Over the years, India and Japan have significantly increased the volume of trade between them. The progress in the field of defense will further diversify the ties between the two countries and develop a Sense of allegiance between the two leading developing countries.
