A gym owner in South Delhi was shot dead in a suspected gang-related incident. Four suspects have been arrested, while the main shooter remains at large. Police are investigating possible connections to jailed gangsters and business rivalries. CCTV footage of the murder has surfaced, and the investigation continues.
In what police believe to be a case of gang warfare, a 35-year-old gym owner, Nadir Shah, was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants in the upscale Greater Kailash area of South Delhi on Thursday night. The victim, known for his gym business and money-lending activities, was attacked at around 10:44 PM while speaking with a friend outside his gym.
Four individuals, identified as Nitalesh Tiwari, Vishal Verma, Akash Yadav from Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh), and Naveen Baliyan from Sonipat (Haryana), have been arrested for providing logistical support to the shooters, police said. Two country-made pistols and eight live rounds were seized from the accused. However, the main shooter remains at large.
Nadir Shah, who had previous criminal cases, including extortion and robbery, co-owned the gym and was also involved in a money-lending business with reportedly high interest rates. At the time of the incident, several police officers from the Special Cell were present nearby, reportedly meeting an informer.
CCTV footage of the murder surfaced online, showing the attacker approaching Shah and firing multiple rounds at close range. Police are also probing connections to jailed gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba, with a social media post from gangster Rohit Godara claiming responsibility for the attack. The post suggested that the murder was ordered by jailed criminal Sameer Baba due to a business rivalry.
