In a thrilling clash at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, Afghanistan enhanced their chances of reaching the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 semifinals. They secured a resounding seven-wicket victory over the Netherlands in their seventh match.

The Netherlands skipper, Scott Edwards, won the toss and elected to bat, setting a target of 180 runs for Afghanistan. However, the Dutch team faced an early setback as Mujeeb Ur Rahman dismissed Wesley Barresi in the very first over.

Despite this, Michael O'Dowd and Colin Ackermann provided some resistance by adding 70 runs for the second wicket. But Afghanistan's fielding prowess caused havoc, leading to four run-outs and Mohammad Nabi taking three crucial wickets.

Mohammad Nabi displayed his all-round prowess by dismissing Bas de Leede and Logan van Beek. His smart variations left the Dutch batsmen struggling.

In the 47th over, Nabi was once again instrumental, trapping Paul van Meekeren in front of the stumps to end the Dutch innings at 179. Afghanistan's bowlers had succeeded in restricting the Netherlands to a modest total.
