Ameesha Patel is happy about the success of Gadar 2. In a recent talk, she remembered a similar happy time in 2001 when the first Gadar movie did well. This happened just after her first movie with Hrithik Roshan, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, which was also a big hit. Ameesha mentioned that after Gadar, she got a letter from director Sanjay Leela Bhansali who praised her work.
After seeing Gadar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali wrote me a really nice letter with compliments. When I met him, he said, 'Ameesha, you should stop working now.' I was confused and asked, 'Why?' I didn't get it," she explained.
Later, she reflected on Bhansali's words, sharing, "He told me, 'Because you have already accomplished something in just two movies that many people don't manage to do in their entire career. Films like Mughal-e-Azam, Mother India, Pakeezah, Sholay are made once in a lifetime. You experienced that kind of success in your second film, so what's next?'"
Indeed, it was a perspective that left her pondering. Ameesha Patel continued to work in the industry, furthering her career with a variety of roles and projects. The impact of Bhansali's advice remained with her, a testament to his unique insight into the world of filmmaking and the extraordinary nature of her early achievements.
