In a stunning achievement, Thalapathy Vijay and director Lokesh Kanagaraj's latest release, "Leo," has taken the global box office by storm, approaching the incredible milestone of Rs 500 crore worldwide. This highly anticipated film, which has garnered positive reviews, achieved this remarkable feat in a remarkably short time.

Just within a week of its theatrical debut, "Leo" has crossed the significant mark of Rs 266 crore in India alone, solidifying its status as a major success. The film, an electrifying addition to the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), now ranks as the third highest-grossing Tamil film in history, trailing only behind the iconic blockbusters "Jailer" and "2.0," both featuring the legendary Rajinikanth.

"Leo" made its grand entrance in multiple languages on October 19, 2023, creating a buzz of excitement prior to its release. The production house proudly announced that the film has already amassed over Rs 461 crore globally, proclaiming "Leo" as the 'highest-grossing Tamil film of all time,' underscoring its exceptional box office performance.

Preliminary trade estimates indicate that the film, led by Vijay, earned an impressive net income of Rs 10.25 crore on its eighth day in Indian theaters. As a result, the total eight-day collection now stands at approximately Rs 266 crore net. Notably, on October 26, "Leo" maintained a robust 25.92% occupancy rate, demonstrating its enduring popularity among moviegoers.

"Leo" boasts a star-studded cast that includes Arjun, Trisha Krishna, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mathew Thomas, and Sandy in pivotal roles. Additionally, Anurag Kashyap makes a special cameo appearance in the film. The film's narrative sees Vijay in multiple avatars, portraying both Parthiban and Leo in this action-packed blockbuster.

The screenplay of "Leo" is a collaborative effort, with Lokesh Kanagaraj, Rathna Kumar, and Dheeraj Vaidy sharing writing credits.
