The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of Andhra Pradesh for the next five days from August 29.


As per Stella Samuel, the Director of the Amaravati Meteorological Centre, there will be prevailing lower tropospheric North-Westerly winds in Andhra Pradesh and Yanam (Puducherry).

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of Andhra Pradesh for the next five days from August 29.

Additionally, a trough extending from South Interior Karnataka to the Comorin area will persist across Interior Tamil Nadu at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level. 


The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that there is a possibility of isolated heavy thunderstorms with lightning in north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema on Tuesday. 


The maximum temperatures in these areas are also expected to be 3-5 degrees Celsius above normal.


Heavy Rainfall
Andhra Pradesh to witness torrential rains and thunderbolts for the next five days.

Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday and Thursday. The temperatures on Wednesday, however, might possibly go above the normal temperature by 3-5 degrees Celsius.


In its official press release, IMD predicted thunderstorms with lightning in some parts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema on Saturday and Sunday.
