In a disturbing incident over the weekend, Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar faced harassment from anti-Israel protesters outside his Michigan home. The demonstrators, expressing dissatisfaction with his perceived "silence" on the Israel-Hamas War, blew car horns and shouted slogans during the early hours of the morning. The incident unfolded as the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues, with over 20,000 Palestinians losing their lives in the ongoing violence.

Thanedar, a 68-year-old lawmaker, who has been an outspoken supporter of Israel, captured the unsettling event in a video shared on the social media platform X. The footage depicted a line of cars on the street, a protester waving a cloth-like material, and others using megaphones to convey their discontent.

A protester confronted Thanedar, accusing him of being complicit in the bombing of Gaza and emphasizing that his silence amounted to violence. The protester's ominous warning of a "price to pay" echoed through the chaotic scene. Notably, a participant was seen raising the Palestinian flag, further intensifying the protest.

The Congressman's commitment to Israel is evident on his campaign website, where he pledges to "defend Israel’s right to exist and to thrive." Thanedar severed ties with the Democratic Socialists of America over their response to the deaths of more than 1,200 people during a terrorist attack on Israel. He denounced terrorism in all forms and labeled Hamas as a barbaric terrorist organization that needs to be eliminated.

Recently forming the Congressional Caucus for Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains, Thanedar aims to combat religious discrimination and promote freedom for these ethnic groups. At a Washington press conference, he emphasized the importance of fostering understanding, inclusion, and affirmative policy actions, stating that every faith, culture, and community has a place in America.

In the face of adversity, Congressman Shri Thanedar remains resolute in his support for Israel, reaffirming his dedication to a diverse and inclusive America.
