A 16-year-old kid in Delhi's Yamuna Vihar neighborhood was
severely assaulted by four of his school's instructors in a disturbing incident
that has sent shockwaves throughout the city. On September 15, an incident
happened that left the small boy with multiple injuries, requiring immediate
response from the authorities.
Kavita, the boy's mother, reportedly made a complaint with
the police, leading to the filing of an FIR against the four teachers at the
Bhajanpura police station in North-East Delhi. The mother explained that her
son, as he did on most days, had been at Delhi Government School in Yamuna
Vihar when the tragic event occurred.
The incident started when one of the professors slapped the
pupil for staring out the window. The boy said he was sorry, yet he still got sent
out of class. Later, the same educator called him in and beat him severely,
with three other educators joining in.
"I was staring out the window when sir arrived and hit
me," the victim said. "He slapped me again when I complained about
the pain. After about five to ten minutes, he came back around, and I
apologized to him. But he smacked me again, and I had to leave the
classroom."
The educator then summoned three of his colleagues, and the
quartet resumed punching, kicking, and elbowing the pupil. His face swelled,
and he was cut around the middle and in the chest.
The teachers reportedly warned the youngster with terrible
penalties if he told anyone about the incident. He told his mum about what
happened, and she took the daring step of filing a police report. The assault
left the young kid with excruciating pain in his chest and waist, forcing him
to be hospitalized.
Teachers engaged in this horrific occurrence have been
arrested, and it has prompted widespread worry for the safety of students in
schools.
