Sam Konstas emerged as a standout performer during the U19 Male National Championships, contributing significantly to NSW Metro's victory with a remarkable unbeaten knock of 63*. His stellar performance earned him the Player of the Match title, adding to his credentials as a Sydney Thunder player in the Big Bash League.

This U19 World Cup initially slated for Sri Lanka faced relocation due to ICC's suspension of Sri Lanka Cricket, resulting from governmental interference in cricket administration. Consequently, South Africa steps in as the host country, reminiscent of their role in hosting the Women's U19 World Cup's inaugural edition.
