Former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique was tragically shot dead on Saturday evening in Mumbai's Bandra East. The 66-year-old politician was attacked by three unidentified assailants outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office. Severely wounded, Siddique was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where medical professionals tried to revive him for nearly two hours. Despite their efforts, he was declared dead at 11:27 p.m.

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital suspect Siddique may have succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital, citing severe blood loss and unconsciousness upon arrival. While resuscitation efforts continued for hours, there was no response, and the NCP leader showed no signs of life throughout the procedure. The exact details of his wounds will be confirmed after the postmortem.
